• Kerala Flood Relief

The United Foundation in association with HIRA welfare trust is working diligently in providing aid to the flood-hit state of Kerala. Donations are actively being directed to the Charge Officer of District Emergency Operating Centre, Wayanad. A centralized relief store is sparing no effort in reaching out to those in desperate conditions. Having created an Emergency Response Team along with other NGO’s TUF is ensuring maximum relief to the victims of the unprecedented floods. With strong support from the ground team— food, medicines and other daily utilities are reaching those affected. Whilst the forecast continues to remain grim and the death toll increases, The United Foundation appeals to the citizens of India to contribute towards the flood relief. It is our duty to help the distressed state of Kerala, ‘God’s own country.’ United Let's help Kerala

    • Project woollies

As many as 10,933 Indians (an average of 781 per year) have died over the past 14 years–between 2001 to 2014–due to “cold and exposure". The deaths are largely in direct relation to the homeless population. These families dread winter and count days until the season is over. This affects the families day to day functioning and many a times children skip school because they don't own sweaters to keep them warm on chilly mornings.

At TUF, we are driven to alleviate the sufferings of those in need and aim to provide winter aid to protect our less privileged brethren. Over the years, we have provided aid to over 1000 individuals. We purchase good quality blankets, sweaters, woolen caps and distribute to the homeless, our students and beneficiaries. Our aim is to protect the homeless from the harsh winter and to encourage our donors to instill the sense of empathy within them. Our team of enthusiasts decide on a day when all the deserving families and homeless civilians would be given the necessary clothing or a new set of blankets. The joy they receive is a truly heartwarming experience for all the volunteers present in the drive.

    • United Eid Kits 2016

Eid, is the most anticipated day in a Muslim’s life. A day when everyone rejoices and celebrates!

While the privileged spend extravagantly, celebrate blissfully and spend the day in contentment, it is a whole different story for our underprivileged brethren. They struggle for clothes, food and shelter even on this joyous occasion. Our volunteers acknowledged this struggle and extended towards them, a helping hand. They decided to make sure that these families were well fed and happy on this special day. With a mission so pure in mind, they were able to collect enough funds to make more than 1000 Eid Kits with all the necessary and special food items in just merely 3 days! A day before Eid, these kits were distributed to more than 1000 below poverty line families in few of the poorest slums of Bangalore – DJ Halli Slum, EWS Quaters Slum, Nagawara and to the remote places around Cuddalore, a village in Tamil Nadu. Truly, the joy of being the reason behind someone’s smile surpasses every other pleasure.

    • The United Ramadan Kit

Social and economic crisis has exacerbated instability in the community, while growth figures of the wealthy continue to rise.

The 300 richest people have the same wealth as the 3 billion poorest people. Our community is at the receiving end of this increasing inequality. Distribution of wealth within the community is the only solution to overcome this steep disparity between the rich and the poor. Initiated in 2014, our volunteers collected zakat (obligatory charity on wealth) to buy basic essentials. Ove 50 families who were most vulnerable were provided with Ramadan Kits in Ramadan, the month of fast. This project was most successful last year as full-fledged surveys were conducted and the most deserving families were narrowed down.

Ramadan kits with essential groceries like rice, sugar, cereals, dates, cooking oil etc. worth a total of 2000/- INR were distributed to more than 1000 families, free of cost. The happiness on their faces is etched in our hearts. This project was nothing but a success. We hope and aim to feed many more families in the upcoming Ramadan.
